Hi! I’m Kendall, but you can call me Ken. I am a registered nurse from Saskatchewan, Canada with a passion for exploring and experiencing all that life has to offer. Through travel nursing, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to work in several hospitals across North America while also taking time off between contracts to travel – and now blog!
Travel nursing has allowed me to merge my passion for patient care with my adventurous spirit, granting me both financial and location freedom. However, the journey to get here wasn’t easy and I wished I had an all-encompassing resource to guide me through it – so I created one! On this website you’ll find comprehensive guides, personal stories, and practical advice to make your travel dreams come true. Not a nurse? No problem! Travel RN Ken is not just for healthcare professionals; it is also a resource for travel destinations, vacation planning, and navigating a nomadic lifestyle.
In true nomadic style, over the past few years I’ve slept in about 150 different beds across the world. “Home” is wherever I’m with my husband, Max, and our elderly adventure dog, Piper. Max is an exploration geologist who spends a lot of time prospecting the rural lands of Canada. Given the nature of temporary travel contracts, we tend to pack up and move somewhere new every three months or so. While we’re posted up in a location, you can find us hiking, biking, surfing, and exploring near and far. Between travel nursing contracts, you’ll find us traveling somewhere new, usually staying for at least a month to really get a local feel for the area.
